A new βgatewayβ project for Eutopia Homes, which was approved by Exeter City Council in March this year, will see a Β£130 million urban village built on Exmouth Junction and will provide a mixture of affordable, private rented and for-sale housing for residents wishing to make the area their home.
It is hoped that the new development will bring a range of sustainable features to the wider community, including a βnew cycle path and over 1,000 bike spaces provided on site, as well as electric car and bike hire schemes to encourage more sustainable methods of travelβ, according to Construction Enquirer.

With many housing developments continuing throughout Exeter and the wider suburbs, this new development by Eutopia Homes will be another addition to the long list of the thousands of for-sale and rented accommodation being built across the county. However, this new planning development will be providing a benchmark in the sustainable housing sector for Exeter and is a starting point for many to follow.
Speaking of the upcoming project, Scott Hammond, founder and CEO of Eutopia Homes, said: βWhile Covid-19 has inevitably caused some disruption, the housing market has demonstrated remarkable resilience during this pandemic and we remain confident in the long-term outlook for UK residential.
βDelivering more homes of all types and tenures will be crucial to ensuring cities like Exeter remain competitive and that talent isnβt priced out.β
Whilst there have been thousands of new homes available for people to buy and rent across the city, building contractors, such as our team at Cowleyβs Building and Maintenance, have been on hand to provide building and maintenance services to those who want to make their house a home. For instance, property extensions and new kitchen fitting in keeping with the rest of the house.
Thankfully, the continuation of the construction industry during the pandemic has allowed companies like us to remain open and help home and property owners complete their dream transformations, whilst following strict social distancing guidelines. Without the flow and completion of new homes in the city and beyond, much of the work wouldnβt be possible.
The Exmouth Junction development, that will be representing 465 new homes alongside extra-care units, will also be home to new outdoor spaces including gardens for public use, new footpaths and woodland walks, as well as a fitness trail for all ages to enjoy. With an increase in the number of people getting out and walking for better mental health, this will be a sanctuary for many people to escape to for both physical and emotional well-being.
